How To-Super Model Hair & Makeup

There are a few universal truths in life, one being that supermodels will always have high cheekbones, dazzling eyes, glowing skin and shampoo-commercial hair —another being that we will always be at least a tad bit envious of them. While it may sometimes seem impossible to achieve these standards of beauty, we aim to make the impossible possible. To make our supermodel dreams a reality, we enlisted the help of hair and makeup guru Tara Shakespeare, who let us in all the best-kept beauty secrets in the industry. So get ready to strut your stuff, because we’re pulling out all the stops for this supermodel hair and makeup tutorial!

Glowing Skin

Step 1: Prime face with an illuminating primer, by mixing a small amount of Merle Norman's Liquid Shimmer with your primer.

Step 2: Apply a luminous foundation all over face, blending with a beauty sponge or brush. I love our CC Cream. See uneven skin tone and fine lines disappear with this multi-benefit complexion corrector that gives you the benefits of a skin care product, sunscreen and light foundation — all in one! Its innovative matrix of skin-benefiting ingredients includes Watermelon Rind, Lentil Fruit and Apple Extracts, clinically proven to deliver both immediate and long-term hydration, and a tripeptide that improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also features Lumiesse, which contains a stable version of Vitamin C to deliver youthful radiance. Supremely silky, the lightweight formula imparts light coverage to even out skin tone, but can easily layers with primers, concealers, foundations and powders for buildable coverage as desired

Dazzling Eyes

Step 1: Apply an eyelid primer to ensure eye shadow stays in place. I use Merle Norman's Eye Shadow Primer.

Step 2: Dust a light gold shadow across eyelid and along the lower lash line, like Color Max Eye Shadow in Golddigger.

Step 3: Blend a matte brown eye shadow into eye sockets, and blend outwards and along lower lash line. Try our mat Eye Shadow in Espresso.

Step 5: Line the upper lashes with a long-wearing liquid liner, like our Award Winning Pro Pen Eyeliner in Black. Start at the inner corner of the eye, making the line thicker as you get to the outer corners.

Step 6: Add false lashes to upper lash line, then apply a volumizing mascara to top and bottom lashes. Try our Award Winning Wicked Lash Mascara.

Step 7: Fill in eyebrows with a shadow and angled brush, like our Natural Brow Powder in Brown.

Step 8: Contour cheekbones, forehead and jawline with a bronzer, like our Bronzing Powder in Beach Side.

Step 9: Highlight cheekbones, nose and above the brows with a cream highlighter, like our Liquid Shimmer.

Step 10: Line lips with a pencil that matches your natural lip color, slightly overdrawing them. Apply a nude color – I LOVE our Lip Pencil Plus in Guava. This dual-function wood-clenched lip pencil is one versatile product, with 2/3 lip color and 1/3 lipliner. Available in beautiful coordinating shades, it provides full coverage and long-wearing color in a semi-matte finish. Finish with a high-shine lip gloss if you prefer, like our Ultra Lip Shine. This clear, weightless gloss contains no pigment, just tons of shine. Its non-sticky formula can be worn alone or over lip color.

Va-Va-Voom Hair

Step 1: Apply a volumizing mousse to wet hair, then blow dry. I love Big Sexy's Big Altitude Bodifying Blow Dry Mousse.

Step 2: Use a 1 1/2-inch curling iron to curl half-inch sections of hair. Make sure to curl away from the face so they stand out rather than hide in.

Step 3: Let curls sit for a few minutes, then brush out with fingers.

Step 4: Finish with a volumizing hair spray with strong flexible hold, like Bed Head's Flexi Head Hairspray.
